The following is a brief introduction to the maintenance of ceramic cylinder liners:
1、 Daily cleaning
1. External cleaning: Regularly clean the outer surface of the ceramic cylinder liner to remove impurities such as dust and oil stains. These impurities may accumulate over a long period of time, affecting the heat dissipation performance of the cylinder liner, or causing safety hazards such as combustion in high-temperature environments. For example, when ceramic cylinder liners are used in engines, excessive oil stains on the outside of the liner may cause smoke and even fire due to the high temperature of the engine. You can use a clean soft cloth or brush for cleaning.
2. Internal cleaning: For internal cleaning, it needs to be carried out when the equipment is stopped and there is no pressure inside the cylinder liner. If the cylinder liner is used for hydraulic systems or containers for storing liquids, after the liquid is emptied, it can be rinsed with a mild cleaning solution and then rinsed clean with water to prevent residual cleaning agents from corroding the cylinder liner. However, it is important to avoid using overly rough tools to scratch the internal ceramic surface and prevent damage to the ceramic cylinder liner.
2、 Inspection work
1. Appearance inspection: Regularly inspect the ceramic cylinder liner for cracks, wear, scratches, peeling, and other damages. You can use a strong flashlight to assist in inspection and carefully observe every part of the cylinder liner surface. For example, in the case of ceramic cylinder liners used in high-temperature kilns, thermal stress may cause small cracks to appear, which will expand over time and usage, leading to cylinder liner damage.
2. Dimensional accuracy check: Check the dimensional accuracy of ceramic cylinder liners, including key dimensions such as inner diameter, outer diameter, and height. Because the cylinder liner may deform under long-term use or abnormal external forces. Measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc. can be used for measurement. If the size exceeds the specified tolerance range, it may affect the fitting accuracy between the cylinder liner and other components, thereby reducing the performance and service life of the equipment.
3、 Lubrication measures
1. Choose the appropriate lubricant: If the ceramic cylinder liner is used in equipment with relative moving parts, such as when the piston reciprocates inside the liner, a suitable lubricant needs to be used. Generally speaking, lubricants that have no corrosive effect on ceramic materials should be selected, and the selection should be based on the working environment of the equipment, such as temperature, pressure, etc. For example, in high-temperature environments, it is necessary to use high-temperature resistant lubricants.
2. Regularly replenish lubricants: According to the operating time and working conditions of the equipment, regularly replenish lubricants. Insufficient lubricant may lead to increased friction, exacerbating surface wear of ceramic cylinder liners. Meanwhile, excessive lubricant may also have adverse effects, such as causing oil leakage or polluting the working environment, so it is necessary to supplement according to the amount specified in the equipment's operating manual.
4、 Prevent impact and vibration
1. Installing buffer devices: In the design and installation process of the equipment, it is necessary to consider installing buffer devices for ceramic cylinder liners to reduce external impacts and vibrations. Because ceramic materials are relatively brittle, they are prone to cracking or breaking under frequent impact and vibration environments. For example, when using ceramic cylinder liners on transportation equipment, rubber shock absorbers can be installed around the cylinder liners.
2. Control the operating conditions of the equipment: Try to avoid operating the equipment under conditions that generate severe vibrations or large impact forces. For some inevitable impact situations, such as using ceramic cylinder liners in stamping equipment, it is necessary to control the intensity and frequency of the impact reasonably, and regularly check the damage of the cylinder liner in the impact environment.
